To help eliminate any misunderstanding related to the refund of earnest money when a sale fails to close, HUD has now authorized the use of the new “Forfeiture of Earnest Money Policy” addendum to be included in your sales packages. This will be a mandatory form starting with bids that are accepted on Monday July 16, 2007. It is also located on our web page under “Forms”.
